Your guide to travelling on race day!

Make getting in and out of the city on race day a walk in the park (pun intended), with our Run Norwich 2022 transport guide.

We recommend you carefully plan your journey in advance, so your pre-race build up is as stress-free as possible. Please do take note of our scheduled road closures listed below and arrive with lots of time to spare. If you do have the option to walk, cycle or use the Park n’ Ride Service, we strongly advise these options!

Park n’ Ride

Special Park and Ride services will be in operation for Airport and Thickthorn sites.

Due to road closures, Airport P&R will operate to/from a temporary bus stop in Duke Street (near Premier Inn) and Thickthorn P&R will operate to/from Norwich Bus Station.

The first bus leaves at 7am, with services running every 20 minutes. Full details including times and prices available here.

Buses

There will be changes to bus times and routes while the race is on. For full information, please visit the website of the relevant provider:

First Group | Sanders | Konectbus

Car parking

A number of car parks, including Chantry Place, Castle Quarter and John Lewis, will be opening earlier than usual on race day.

For runners and spectators that wish to park a vehicle in the city centre, please view our car park map here.

The Forum car park is closed, as it is reserved for our volunteers. For more information on parking, please visit www.norwich.gov.uk.

Taxis

The taxi rank on Gaol Hill will operate as per usual, while the rank usually located in Tombland will be closed between 8am and 12pm.

Cycling

You can also help cut down traffic, congestion and air pollution by cycling to the city on race day. Beryl have over 600 manual and electric assist bikes throughout the city centre and surrounding areas. But of course – please ensure bikes are not used or left on the race route!

Road closures and parking restrictions

Some roads will be closed from 7am due to the event, and there will be parking restrictions in the city centre area from Saturday night.
