Run Norwich 2026 - Battle of the Gyms Challenge Now Open

Entries for the inaugural Run Norwich Battle of the Gyms are now open.

New for 2026 Battle of the Gyms will crown the fastest gym or leisure centre represented at this year’s race.

Supported by Riverside Leisure Centre, Norwich, the challenge is structured in a near identical format to our Run Norwich Corporate Challenge, taking the average finishing time from each team to create a leaderboard, and ultimately a podium.

About the Challenge

Each gym can have 4+ members entered, on the proviso all are current gym members and have secured entry into Run Norwich 2026.

It’s completely free to enter your team, although each gym may only enter one team each into this inaugural Battle of the Gyms.

Entry to Battle of the Gyms is open to all current Run Norwich entrants, irrespective of whether you are already representing a running club, charity or originally entered using ACTIVE’s (our entry system) Team function.

Battle of the Gyms Rules

Entries are open to any UK-registered gym or leisure centre

Each gym/leisure centre may only enter one team each into 2026’s Battle of the Gyms.

There is no maximum number of entrants per team, and a minimum number of 4.

All team members must be registered for Run Norwich 2026 and have agreed to its terms and conditions and race rules.

Team members must be members of the gym or leisure centre as of race day (Sunday, 6th September 2026)

Team times are based on the average time of all team members once the final results have been published.

Participation in the Battle of the Gyms does not affect your eligibility for main race prizes

These Battle of the Gyms rules are supplemental to the Run Norwich terms & conditions of entry, race rules and UK Athletics Rules of Competition.

How it works

Your nominated team captain can enter your team now here.

Following the close of official entries and transfers (July 31st) and the allocation of bib numbers, we will contact team managers requesting their final team list (all must be Run Norwich entrants and current employees).

Following official individual results being published (usually three to four days after the race), we will publish final Battle of the Gyms team standings.

The winning gym will get their name engraved on the official Battle of the Gyms trophy, with the first, second and third placed gyms receiving a trophy/shield to keep.
