Your guide to travel and road closures on race day

We recommend getting into the city with lots of time to spare. If possible, we advise runners to walk or cycle into the city centre. Some roads will be closed from 7am due to the event, and there will be parking restrictions in the city centre area. Click here to view all disruptions on the day.

Park and Ride

Airport Park and Ride will operate to and from Duke Street until Chapelfield Road reopens (after 10.15am) – there will be no cross service to Thickthorn Park and Ride until this time. Thereafter service will return to the Bus Station as normal. Thickthorn Park and Ride will operate it’s normal timetable to the bus station.

Postwick Park and Ride will divert along the A47 Southern Bypass to the Bus Station for the duration of the event – there will be no service for the Rail Station.

Buses

There will be changes to bus times and routes while the race is on. For full information, please visit Travel Norfolk website or the website of the relevant provider:

Car parking

A number of car parks will be adjusting their opening hours to accommodate the race, including Castle Quarter (6am), Chantry Place (7am) and John Lewis (7am).

Note: The Forum car park is closed, as it is reserved for race volunteers.

Taxis

The taxi rank on Gaol Hill will operate as per usual, while the rank usually located in Tombland will be closed between 8am and 12pm.

Road closures and parking restrictions

Some roads will be closed from 7am due to the event, and there will be parking restrictions in the city centre area from Saturday night.
