The Foundation's 10km race wins gold at The Running Awards

Run Norwich has been voted as the Best 10k in the United Kingdom, according to the Running Awards.

The Norwich City Community Sports Foundation’s city centre race beat nine other regional winners to claim the top spot.

Alongside the national award, Run Norwich has secured the top East of England 10k prize for the third year in a row

The Running Awards have existed for over seven years, and prides itself on being adjudicated by ‘truly independent voting’ as all categories and winners are voted for by members of the public.

Ian Thornton, Chief Executive at the Foundation said:

“We’re hugely proud to have won this award. As a relatively new face in the running scene, getting national recognition like this is really special and is testament to the hard work, enthusiasm and passion of our staff, volunteers, and partners.”

“A massive thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for us. We’re looking forward to 2021 when we can demonstrate again why we are worthy of this award.”
