Date revealed for Run Norwich 2024

The Norwich City Community Sports Foundation is delighted to reveal that our annual 10km event, Run Norwich, will next return on Sunday 8^th September, 2024.

The award-winning road race, proudly supported by main sponsor Anglian Home Improvements, takes place in the heart of Norwich’s beautiful and historic city centre. Capacity for the event will be set at 8,500 entrants.

We intend to open entries in January 2024, as is typical for Run Norwich, with the exact entry date to be confirmed.

A new autumn slot

The 2024 race date is a departure from the event’s traditional high summer slot as Emma Fletcher-Dungay, Head of Fundraising at the Foundation, explains:

“Following the postponement of Run Norwich 2022, we have been through a long and thorough process to find a new autumnal date for the race.

“To allow this, we have had to find a date that works with not just the calendar of Norwich City Council, but also other key organisations including The Forum, Cathedral and Norwich City Football Club to name a few. Crucially, the date needed to align with the charity’s own staffing and resources.

“Unfortunately, any autumnal date change brings the inevitability of clashes with other running events. Whilst some runners will no doubt be disappointed that we are on the same day as the Great North Run, we were conscious to choose a date that worked well with the local running calendar.

“We’re really excited to bring Run Norwich into September, and we’re extremely grateful to everyone that has worked with us to accommodate this new date.”
