Total from August's run surpasses £160,000
Following another hugely successful Run Norwich, event organisers the Community Sports Foundation (CSF) are delighted to announce that runners who took part in this year’s 10k race have raised over £160,000 for the four main race charities – with the figure still climbing.
The event had over 800 official race charity runners registered this year, running for either The Big C, SERV Norfolk, Norwich & Central Norfolk Mind, or the Community Sports Foundation.
With donations still coming in, ‘Team CSF’ have so far raised in excess of £36,000 for the Foundation’s work with disadvantaged and disabled people across the county.
The Big C, SERV Norfolk and Norwich & Central Norfolk Mind have raised a combined total of £126,500.
Run Norwich Event Manager Amy Grewe commented:
“We’re incredibly proud that since Run Norwich started, we’ve been able to use it as a tool to raise funds for local charities.”
“This year saw our biggest wave of charity runners yet, and the sheer scale of the funds raised surpasses our previous year’s totals. It’s a real pleasure to know that money will be used to help change lives in the local community.”
Beyond the official charities, many runners chose to run for their own cause, with over a 100 additional charities benefitting from the race.
A post-race survey sent to all runners indicates that these individual fundraisers have taken the overall fundraising figure from Run Norwich 2017 to over £300,000.
