Run Norwich 2023 will take place on Sunday, July 16th, while the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation continues to review options for future events.
Run Norwich finally returned this year as over 6,200 people braved a downpour to complete the 10k course on a memorable and emotional day in October.
The race was postponed from its original July date because of an amber weather warning for unusually high temperatures; as a result, we looked at the possibility of a different date for 2023 and beyond.
We were unable to find a date that worked for all our key stakeholders in 2023, so our options were July 16th or no race.
The conditions that caused the 2022 postponement were extreme, so it seems reasonable to expect that we can deliver a safe and successful Run Norwich on July 16th.
For future races it remains our desire to find a date that is even less likely to be affected by weather conditions.
Run Norwich continues to be the Foundation’s largest fundraising event, helping us to drive inclusion for people with disabilities through participation in sport and improving skills, qualifications, and wellbeing.
The event has grown from around 3,800 entries in 2015 to 8,500 for the most recent edition.
The entry process will open in early 2023 and will be announced on our website, social media channels and to our email database in advance.
