Run Norwich 2026 sells out in record time

Following the launch of Run Norwich 2026 general entries yesterday, 5th March, the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation are delighted to reflect on what has been an incredibly successful and memorable day. The response from the running community was truly overwhelming, with all general-entry places selling out in just 28 minutes. A record that highlights the ever-growing popularity for Run Norwich.

Over 8,000 runners were able to successfully register through our system in a very short space of time. Our registration partner was monitoring access to the platforms during the launch window and whilst they saw an increase in volume, this was well within the systems threshold. The exceptionally high demand meant the registration system placed participants in a virtual queue to help manage the volume of sign-ups being simultaneously processed.

The high volume of entries being processed meant some runners experienced a delay in receiving confirmation of their entry. We are currently in the process of contacting all those affected. While we appreciate this isn’t ideal, the delay was simply a reflection of the extraordinary demand for places this year and we’re grateful for everyone’s patience.

A small number were also affected by a third-party payment processing issue. We are aware there were some delays in transaction authorisations and if anyone has a pending or duplicate payment while attempting to enter, these will be automatically backed out and refunded within the next 1-2 working days.

We would like to take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate everyone who signed up as a Foundation Runner this year. Your fundraising and commitment will have a profound and lasting impact on the community across Norfolk.

Every pound raised by Run Norwich directly supports the vital work of the Community Sports Foundation, a charity helping people with disabilities or facing disadvantage access life-changing programmes and opportunities. This mission lies at the very heart of Run Norwich.

For anyone unsuccessful in securing a place this year, the Foundation encourage you to visit the Run Norwich Community group on Facebook. Runners who can no longer take part can advertise their places for transfer within this group until the end of July.

Thank you to everyone for your enthusiasm, patience and passion for Run Norwich. We look forward to welcoming all our runners and supporters to the city in September.
