Contract Manager at Riverside Leisure Centre explains why they are proud to sponsor Run Norwich

Phil Wright, Contract Manager at Riverside Leisure Centre, explains why they are proud to sponsor Run Norwich and how they will be getting involved as we approach the highly anticipated race day:

At Riverside Leisure Centre, we actively work to ensure we encourage a positive impact on the local community. Furthermore, we strive to create active places and healthy people.

When the Run Norwich event was announced, we felt it was a great opportunity to demonstrate what we set out to achieve; we believe in community focussed agendas and were extremely keen to support this new event.  We work closely with the event organisers, the Community Sports Foundation, supporting their fantastic work with disabled and disadvantaged groups.

The Leisure Centre sits at the heart of the community in the modern city of Norwich. We have a state of the art gym (where you could perhaps squeeze some extra training sessions in before the big day!). In addition, members have access to our 25 metre swimming pool, where they can enjoy various activities including swimming lessons, lane sessions and open swim.

We have fully-qualified gym instructors with expert knowledge across a wide range of areas including nutrition, core and stability and weight management. A number of our team members have signed up to the race and are participating in the event!

So how else are we getting involved in Run Norwich?

We’ll be at the Race Expo at the Forum on Thursday 27th, Friday 28th and Saturday 29th August to provide runners with expert knowledge in staying healthy and active. Perhaps you would like further information on our swimming lessons, our ‘Move with Peppa’ children classes or would like to join in one of our taster sessions?

On the day of the race, we will be present at the Race Village in Chapelfield Gardens where you can take part in some of our lively taster classes, including Zumba and Circuits. What’s more, we will have a live DJ and the team will be available throughout the event to help put your goals into action.
