Run Norwich 2024 results
Check out results from Run Norwich 2024!
Story added: 5th August 2016
Our official #RN16 magazine, available in each race pack, contains a detailed information section which should cover all you need to know ahead of the big day. We encourage all our runners to familiarise themselves with these details so there are no surprises come tomorrow. To help, we’ve highlighted ten key points below:
1 – Headphones are a no
Run Norwich is a UK Athletics registered race which means that the use of headphones or earbuds is strictly prohibited. We know how important music is to some runners so we have a number of live bands who’ll be performing along the race route. The cheers and encouragement of thousands of spectators should help too! Please be aware that anyone caught with headphones will be disqualified and removed from the race results.
2 – Race transfers
Likewise, the unofficial transfer of race numbers is strictly prohibited and, again, cause for disqualification. No one should run under anyone else’s number without our consent. Anyone found wearing a number other than their own will be disqualified.
3 – Don’t neglect the back of the bib…
It’s vital that you take the time to add your personal information, including details of any current medication and emergency contacts, to the reverse of your race number. It will be the first port-of-call for our first aiders should you feel unwell.
4 – Shed your baggage
There are a number of baggage tags included in your race pack, please affix these to any bags or possessions you wish to hand in. Baggage areas open from 8am and will be colour coded in accordance to the colour of your race number; black, blue (Bethel Street), green, yellow and pink (Chapelfield Gardens). To claim your baggage back, please make sure you keep your race number with you once you cross the finish line.
5 – Colour waves
Your race number is colour-coded based on your predicted finish time when you registered. While you may ‘demote’ yourself to a slower race category on the day, runners may not start in a faster race category. A map in the race magazine details the colour waves and their assembly points.
6 – Stay hydrated
Forecasts are predicting a gloriously sunny (but hot) race day. While the morning start should ensure it’s cooler, make sure you are suitably hydrated before you run and be sure to make use of both our water stations. These are located at Carrow Road and Bishopgate.
7 – Watch your footing
The 10km route passes through the heart of a historic medieval city, therefore some areas of the course are cobbled and there are a number of tight turns. Please pay particular attention to your footing inside Cathedral Close, as well as the sharp turns around Carrow Road.
8 – Keep on movin’…
The market and the City Hall form a special backdrop to our finish line; however space is tight, especially with over 5,000 runners crossing the line in quick succession. We ask that all runners keep on moving along the ‘exit route’ as marked. Chapelfield Gardens is our dedicated repatriation area and will be the hub of post-race activity and entertainment. Please arrange to meet friends, family and fellow runners here.
9 – Free beer. We’ve got free beer.
And while you are there, you can enjoy a free beer courtesy of race supporters Adnams. Your voucher will be inside your goody bag which you’ll collect on your way to the Gardens. Please note that the beer is available to over-18s only.
10 – Those all important results (and photos)
You won’t have to wait long till race results and photos are posted up onto our website after the race. Keep an eye out on our social media channels, as we’ll let you know right away when they are live…
