Run Norwich will take place on the later date of Sunday, October 10th

Owing to the uncertain timeframe for the return of mass participation events, Norwich City Community Sports Foundation have taken the decision to hold Run Norwich 2021 on the later date of Sunday, October 10th.

Run Norwich is the Foundation’s key fundraising event, and a major date in the city and running calendars; it is hoped that a later date will provide the best possible chance of safely holding the event in 2021.

Dan Wynne from organisers the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation explained the decision further:

“We hope of course that the world will be a far more normal place by July, and large events will once again be permitted and safe, but to give us the very best chance of putting on a race in 2021, we have opted for this later date.

“We normally open entries in January for a July race, but we don’t feel comfortable asking people to enter while things remain so uncertain. Our entry week therefore will also come later than usual, when we feel it is appropriate.

“In 2020, many thousands of people waived their right to claim a refund, and that has helped the Foundation to navigate the tricky waters of the pandemic, while also safeguarding the immediate future of the event we have all come to love so much.

“We’d like to take this chance to say thank you once again; your support meant so much to the team and the people that benefit from the Foundation’s work in the community.

“Bringing thousands of you back together on the start line in October for a safe and memorable celebration is enormous motivation for us all, and we will do everything possible to deliver that magical day.”

If you are not already on the race’s mailing list and would like to hear when entries open, please register here.
Those who waived their 2020 refund remain eligible for priority entry and a £5 discount in 2021 and will hear from us in advance of entry week.
