We love seeing the creativity, colour and fun that fancy dress has brought to the streets of our fine city over the years. From the infamous unicorns to the Flintstones, pink flamingos to giant boobies – Run Norwich runners never fail to brighten up our city’s streets!
But while we’re big fans of the fun, safety will always be our number one priority. So, if you’re planning to dress up for Run Norwich 2025, here are a few friendly reminders to help keep you – and all our runners – safe on race day.
Costumes & Common Sense
You’re more than welcome to run in fancy dress, as per our race rules (1.16), but please make sure your outfit doesn’t pose a risk to you or the runners that will be around you. That means:
- Nothing that blocks your vision
- Nothing that stops you from clearly displaying your race bib
- Nothing too bulky or wide that might knock into fellow runners, impair surrounding runner’s vision around you, or obstruct race wheelchair users from passing – costumes are not to be wider than your arms width
- Nothing dragging on the ground or that could cause an obstruction or pose a trip hazard
- Absolutely no messages or slogans that could be considered offensive
Our event team reserves the right to stop anyone from running if a costume is deemed unsafe or inappropriate – so keep it fun, but keep it safe!
