Company Director Mark Noakes reveals why the firm were so keen to support the event

Aston Shaw, East Anglia’s fastest growing accountancy firm, are Run Norwich partner sponsors. Company Director Mark Noakes (pictured above with Norwich City CSF Director Ian Thornton), reveals why the firm were so keen to support the event:

When Run Norwich was first announced we immediately saw the potential benefits the event had for the city. Norwich has a diverse array of traditions and annual events which consistently provide an economic boost to the city, particularly to the tourism and leisure sector. In the latest economic strategy set out for Norwich, the council noted that the city is ranked 5th in the UK outside of London for the number of day visitors it attracts, however cities with a lower number of visitors are still attracting a higher revenue and events like Run Norwich are going to be key in rectifying this.

At Aston Shaw, our business relies on the economic prosperity of the local area and with this in mind, we take a keen interest in all business-related activities and events in the region. The Run Norwich event is set to become a long-standing local tradition after its much anticipated launch – further years should aim to build on the success and aim to attract more and more runners from around the UK.

What sets this run apart from other established 5k and 10ks around the UK, is the fantastic route that has been set out. With Norwich’s 12 key landmarks all prominent on the run, it could really become a “must-do” for visitors who want to see Norwich in a day. There is also the benefit that the city centre location will allow more supporters to come along and watch, meaning families and friends will be in the area to boost trade for retail and food outlets.

As a partner sponsor for the inaugural Run Norwich, we hope this event will prove to be a big success and that we can support the Community Sports Foundation and Run Norwich for many years to come.

"When Run Norwich was first announced we immediately saw the potential benefits the event had for the city."
