Story added: 10th May 2022

Weekly sessions will begin on Thursday 19th May at The Nest

Is your training for the big day stalling?  Craving some expert support and advice?  Or do you simply need another excuse to be running outdoors (with your fellow #RN22 entrants)?

If you’re answering yes to any of the above, you’re in luck – our Run Norwich training club is back for 2022!

Starting on May 19th and running every Thursday evening for eight weeks until race day (excluding the Platinum Jubilee weekend), the training club will take place at The Nest in north Norwich.

There will be two time slots (Beginners 6.00pm to 7.00pm and Improvers 7.30pm to 8.30pm), with 40 spaces available on each session.

The eight sessions are priced at £30 in total (which works out as £3.75 per session).

Qualified coach and running guru Paul Evans has devised the training plan and will lead the sessions, supported by a number of male and female coaches that will be familiar to those on the local running scene.

Paul is one of the fastest all-time British marathon runners (winning the 1996 Chicago marathon in 2:08.52) and has twice represented Team GB on the track at the Olympic Games, across 10,000 metres, no less!

Every session will take place on grass, and the small group numbers and nature of the training, means that no-one will get left behind.

Since the last training club was held at the Community Sports Foundation’s 22-acre community hub The Nest, a stunning new main building has opened which comes complete with a café and lockers. Parking is free and readily available on-site.

Need some extra support?

The training club is proudly supported by Recover Physio, Run Norwich’s official physiotherapy provider.

As per previous years, the team at Recover Physio will be offering free pre- and post- race massage treatments to runners in the Race Village on race day – with twice as many physios and beds planned for 2022!

With clinics on Princes St in Tombland and onsite at The Nest, Recover Physio provide physiotherapy, soft tissue therapy and pilates. They specialise in helping runners recover from injury, prevent injuries before they happen and help to achieve their PBs.

Keep an eye out for tips and advice from the team at Recover Physio as we approach race day, otherwise don’t hesitate to drop them a line about a consultation.
